About IDY2023

The International Day of Yoga 2023 Summit (IDY2023) successfully brought together people from India and Mexico to celebrate yoga’s influence. Furthermore, the summit honored messages from the G20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, while also commemorating the 72-year friendship between our countries.

The event took place on June 21st, running from the early morning until late at night, and highlighted how cultures can work together for everyone’s well-being.

Moreover, IDY2023 saw 1600 students from schools and two institutes for specially-abled individuals participating, showing how yoga is for everyone. Their involvement added a special touch to the summit, illustrating how yoga can change lives for the better.

We were glad to have H.E. Salvador Caro Cabrera, a Federal Deputy from Mexico and President of the Friendship Group Mexico-India, as our Chief Guest. Furthermore, his presence showed the strong bond between our nations. His words emphasized how cultural exchange can strengthen ties between countries.

Additionally, Dr. Abhinaw Raj, from the Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Mexico City, spoke about yoga’s significance. His message stressed how yoga benefits our minds, bodies, and spirits, urging everyone to embrace it for harmony and well-being.

Global Participation, Local Pride

During the 24-hour live event, we also had the Indian Diaspora joining virtually from the UN Headquarters in New York. Despite being physically distant, their cheers of “Jai Hind” and “Vande Mataram” showed their love for India. This united display of patriotism highlighted their strong connection with India.

The IDY2023 Summit was a great chance for people from both countries to celebrate yoga’s power. Through workshops, demonstrations, and talks, participants learned about yoga’s physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. Additionally, the summit provided an opportunity to deepen friendships between India and Mexico and share our cultures.

“The success of IDY2023 shows how yoga can bring people together, no matter where they’re from,” said Darshan Patel, the founder of India Mexico forum.

Conclusion

The International Day of Yoga 2023 Summit was a big step in promoting yoga and strengthening the friendship between India and Mexico. Let’s keep the unity and well-being alive and use yoga to make our world healthier and more connected.
